Maintenance & Damage Policy
There is a maintenance fee of 5000Â (one time per year) required from each renter. This covers routine servicing, minor repairs or adjustments (e.g. tuning, restringing, minor structural adjustments) provided damage is not heavy or due to neglect.
If an instrument is returned with major damage (e.g. cracked body, broken neck, bow damage beyond normal wear, etc.), additional repair/replacement costs will be assessed. The renter is responsible for such major damage.
Rental Terms & Conditions
Rental Period: Minimum 3-month rental. Weekly rentals are available but revert to monthly pricing if extended past 4 weeks.
Payment: Monthly rentals to be paid in advance at beginning of each month. Weekly rentals paid at start of rental period.
Deposit: no deposit, but you must sign contract in case of damage.
Instrument Care:
Keep instruments in a stable environment (avoid extreme heat/cold, high humidity).
Use appropriate cases / protection supplied (or the renter’s own).
Clean and care for instrument per instructions.
Repair / Alterations:
The renter may not alter the instrument (e.g. change structural parts) without written permission.
Minor repairs due to normal use are covered by the annual maintenance fee.
Major damage or misuse must be reported immediately; repair costs borne by renter.
Early Termination:
If the renter returns the instrument before the agreed period, deposit may be reduced if there is wear beyond normal.
No refunds for unused portion of month unless special arrangements made in writing.
Renewal / Size Swaps (Violins): Children who grow may swap to larger fractional sizes. Swap fee may apply (e.g. pro rata of rental rate difference + administrative cost).
